Ronald Reagan was asked why did he leave the Democratic Party in 1962. His famous reply was “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party, The Democratic Party left me”. After McConnell and Harry Reid worked out a deal to raise the debt ceiling for a mere 90 days enabling Obama to spend as he wishes without limitations I began to wonder what has happened to the Republican Party. Many events have me now saying “I didn’t leave the Republican party, the Republican party left me”.
The shift to liberalism in the Republican party (called Moderates) is out of fear that Conservatism is now a dirty word. The trend being with a common Republican talking point heard again and again: “If Ronald Reagan was alive today he could not win an election”. They (The Republicans) fear the tactics of the left that paint Conservatives as hateful people. They don’t want to help the poor! They are only backing big corporations! They don’t care about your health care! They don’t like Hispanics (You will be hearing that one soon enough when Obama pushes for illegal immigrants again). All of which is of course not true. Yet, todays Republicans feel they must adopt liberalism in order to be elected. This strategy will not work. In 2008 McCain was defeated. He, being one of the most liberal Republicans ever. With Romney, a Moderate who had to woo and convince conservatives to vote for him also fell by the wayside. I have no doubt Republicans will once again put up another moderate who will once again lose. On the other hand, Ronald Reagan won in a landslide election because he was a Conservative. In short, Conservatives stay home on election day when Republicans put up moderates to be the candidate for the Presidency.
Republicans can not run fast enough from Reaganism. Instead, they publicly reject him and the successes. Even to the point of historical revisionism. The Democrats have always done that, but now the Republicans are too, and to what end? The country has a large amount of conservatives. Those that love the Constitution. Those that see the huge centralized government as a perversion of what the founding fathers created. Much of the country longs for small government, reasonable taxes, a return to morals, ethics, fiscal responsibility, liberty, and a return of rule of law. Some of these people retain the Republican party status, but are disgusted. Others became the Tea Party and are called Terrorists, racists, un-American, dangerous, hateful. Some are Christians, who are embattled with their own attacks by this administration. Even Christians in our military are being prevented from speaking their faith, and having it called hate speech. Ironic that Liberals say they are tolerate people, yet I noticed they never tolerate anyone who differs from their opinions. Yes, Conservatism is dying. Still in great numbers, but the trend points to it’s death. They are attacked by the IRS, EPA, NSA, and this administration. They are victims of slander to the point where they have to defend themselves in court to the point of losing all their money spent on lawyers, only for their cases to be dismissed in the end. Sarah Palin and Jim Demint can testify to that.
So these fearful Republican politicians find themselves walking on eggshells as not to offend Liberals while turning their backs on Conservatives. When a true Constitutional Conservative appears they are not only attacked by the left, but now by their own party. Ted Cruz chose to represent the American public in the fight to defund Obamacare. The American public in polls shows they do not want Obamacare. It was a given that the Democrats would ignore the people of this land, saying ” Once they get it they will learn to love it”. Yet, liberal Republicans (I just can’t call them moderate), attacked Ted Cruz as if he was the devil himself. McCain, Lindsey Grahm, Cantor, and all Liberal Republicans in Congress attacked Ted Cruz with venom. The one man that is the most like Ronald Reagan in over, well, since … RONALD REAGAN!
To make the death of Republicans come even faster, the Republicans are helping along with their own suicide by pushing for an immigration bill too. They feel this will bring in more Hispanic voters to their “Big Tent” Theory. With over 20 million illegal Hispanics, the Republicans are too blind with their own new liberal ideology that they themselves can not see each and every one of them (The illegal immigrants) when allowed to vote will vote for the Democratic party. The party of gifts, buying your votes: Free phones! drastically reduced college educations in comparison to the young Americans cost, Food Stamps, Welfare with immediate approval. All while they take the jobs away from the black unemployed who’s figures are about 18% unemployment. The Republicans are saying, without saying it, We will help you be here legally, now go out and vote for the other guy. As all the credit will go to Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Obama and the Democrats for making their dreams come true, hence the Dream Act.
Yes, we will not win in 2016, and I doubt a Republican will win for over 20 years. Unless the RNC realizes Ronald Reagan was a winner, and we need to stick with what worked, not run and hide from it. It isn’t enough that we have Democratic voter fraud to contend with, we have Republicans shooting themselves in the foot handing over the elections. Take Cory Booker for instance. The DNC pumped a huge amount of money into his campaign. A man who had so much going wrong with him he should have lost in a landslide in a world of knowing right from wrong. Yet, the Republican candidate, Steve Lonegan was a True Conservative, a Reaganite if you will. Well, the Republicans could not have that! They would rather see a Liberal Democrat win then a Conservative Republican. The RNC did not give one penny to Lonegan’s campaign. Not one red cent! ( I never knew what one red cent meant, but my mother used to say it all the time ha!). So what happened? Cory Booker was plastered all over the media with just a smattering of Steve Lonegan here and there. Result? A huge win for Cory Booker. Thank you RNC! You son of a… (taking deep breath in and out of a paper bag). OK, I’m fine now.
The fault doesn’t lay just with the Republican establishment, nor the Republican politicians. It is us. Yes, You and I, the conservatives. We cower when we hear liberals rant and rave at Bush, Christians, and praising Obama, etc. We as a rule don’t confront them. Take Facebook for instance. 50% friends liberal, 50% friends conservative. I only see the liberal propaganda posts! the conservative friends just lay low. Fear of a conflict of words. Fear of being painted haters, racists, extremists. No one to challenge the liberal talking points. With no one speaking out (oh yes, there is a few, but so little) the left feels vindicated as if to say “See! Those extremists can’t respond to this or that, because they know their wrong!”. Again, not true. Conservatives are losing the battle of words, and with that we lose the battle of the minds. Propaganda, lies, become the truth, and if you don’t speak out now, your principles dies with the silence.
The media is also to blame. Every conservative knows that very well. MSNBC was caught with emails back and forth from the White house as they give them talking points, and telling them what they can or can not say, approving, and editing reporters. NBC caught editing Romney videos to make him look foolish, when in content was accurate. CBS and ABC discarding their own polls that show negatives to their own agenda in favor with reporting on other polls to show agreement. The media loons targeting Fox News time and time again calling them not real news, yet if you notice how many people on the left Fox News has, so out numbers the amount of conservatives left wing media has. May I also add, and when a Liberal dares to speak up they are thrown to the lions. Such as Juan Williams from NPR. With the media schilling for Obama and all Liberal politicians, the low informative voters drink up the propaganda like their favorite Kool-Aid. Saul Alinsky is alive and well. The media has taken his place.
I keep hearing “If we don’t do something to turn this around Republicans will go off the political cliff” I submit we have. How can we turn all of the above around? The task is too huge! There is too much against us. It is fashionable to terminate the Conservative. Here is how, although I recognize it is a very difficult prospect. You! Yes, you! go to town hall meetings. Put your popcorn down and stop watching the Big Bang Theory and go! You, yes you! Get involved in your local politics. Run for your town positions. The left doesn’t shy away from running for local politics. You can do it! At the very least, and I say least, but truth is I should say at the very most important, if you have a conservative running for local politics, help them, get involved in their campaigns. It is surely too late for this country if we the people do nothing. We are always saying we must take back our country. Do not wait for someone else to take it back for you. We are a non violent army. We must become a political army in big numbers locally throughout the country. We must save the Republican party from itself. A 3rd party solution is not the answer, a new party is not the answer, as these only split the vote electing Democrats easily. I also urge all of you to read the following books:
Mark Levin: Liberty and Tyranny only $10.38 for the Kindle version! http://www.amazon.com/Liberty-Tyranny-A-Conservative-Manifesto/dp/1416562877\par Mark Levin: The Liberty Amendments only $10.99 for the Kindle version! http://www.amazon.com/The-Liberty-Amendments-Restoring-American/dp/1451606273\par
I am not a book salesman. Nor do I know Mark Levin personally at all, nor do I get a dime for plugging these books. However, the left has Saul Alinsky and Carl Marx with books based on the destruction of freedom and the economy. Mark Levin’s books are the best solution against it. Incredibly educational. Read it, and pass it on to a liberal you know would read it. Challenge them to debate you on what they just read. We must fight to win back our country. Not by violence, but by intelligence. God Bless you, and God Bless America.
TO THE PERSON WHO WROTE HIS COMMENT THAT HE DIDN’T THINK THE GOP IS WORTH SAVING… THANKS FOR THE SPELLING CORRECTION OF KOOL-AID! YOU’RE RIGHT! I NEED TO GO TO A SUPER MARKET MORE OFTEN!
